Update Rooted Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL to January Update [fastboot][boot.img patching]
It's January and that means another update for our Pixel 4 and 4 XL! This time we'll be using the factory images and Magisk Manager to patch the stock boot.img to re-root our phone after updating.
If you wish to take the OTA, you can do so as well. This is just another way of updating.
If you get stuck at the G logo after updating, try removing your modules by using: adb wait-for-device shell magisk --remove-modules
Your phone must have had USB debugging enabled and have your computer authorised beforehand. If not, flash the stock boot.img first, do the above and then try again.
Remember to backup and ask questions!
