I wanted to see if I could save any idle power draw and/or low power consumption under load on my media server. The media server already was running an I5-7500, so the most comparable CPU in terms of processing power would be the I5-7600T. This CPU has a TDP of 35W vs 65W for the 7500.
If you decide not to watch the video in it's entirety, the short answer is I saved 1 watt at most. Unless there is something I am missing in configuration, using a T-branded Intel CPU in a standard desktop environment gave no saving in power consumption either at idle or under load.
