Sorting is very important feature of excel to arrange the data in ascending or descending order.
If you have large data then arranging the data is challenging job. Sorting feature helps you to make this job easy. Sorting arranges the data in ascending or descending order so you identify any specific records easily.
There are basically 3 types of Sorting-
1. A to Z or Z to A -
If you want to sort your records according to that column where you have string data types then excel sorts that column in A to Z or Z to A. It mean the data of that column will be arranged from A to Z( ascending order) or Z to A (descending order).
2. Smallest to Largest or Largest to Smallest -
This sorting type can be applied to that column where has numerical data. In this sorting type small numbers will be first (in ascending order) and large numbers will be in the last (in descending order) .
3. Oldest to Newest -
This sorting type can be applied to that column where has Date types of data. In this sorting type Oldest dates will be first (in ascending order) and Newest dates will be in the last (in descending order).
