I created a new Blender 2.8 addon for exporting objects in a batch operation, for each object (with children) one fbx file is created.
You can find the addon named Batex here on my github, it's free:
https://github.com/jayanam/batex
The addon exports the selected objects, the folder can be defined and the settings is stored for the project file.
What the addon also does, and this is why it is so useful for experting to Unreal Engine, is to the set pivor point of the exported objects to the center - cause otherwise with a default FBX export the privot point in UE4 is set to the current position of the object in Blender.
I also show the Python code, so that you can see how the addon is implemented using the IDE VS Code.
