STORYLINE :
Hundreds of angry demonstrators marched in the West Bank town of Ramallah shortly after a Palestinian leader narrowly escaped what Palestinians believed was an Israeli assasination attempt.
Two missiles just missed prominent Palestinian leader, Marwan Barghouti, as he left his West Bank office by car on Saturday.
Barghouti, an outspoken leader of Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement in the West Bank, was shaken but unhurt.
A Palestinian security official traveling in a second car was seriously injured in the attack.
Barghouti joined the throngs of protesters packing the streets of Ramallah as they chanted anti-Israeli slogans and called for revenge attacks.
Palestinian leaders condemed the attack, warning that there would be retaliation.
The Israeli military had no immediate comment on the incident in the West Bank town of Ramallah, just north of Jerusalem.
