PLEASE DO NOT JUST WATCH THE VIDEO PASSIVELY, FOLLOW ALONG WITH PENCIL AND PAPER. I can't stress how important it is and how many people are foolish enough to ignore this! FOLLOW ALONG WITH PENCIL AND PAPER!!!
This is video 2 of the Elementary Statistics series. Video 1 is here: • G6 & G7 Review (circles, triangles, w...

PLEASE USE IT TO UNDERSTAND.
This is an elementary video series where we manipulate a few small data sets. I got the idea from the Common Core curriculum where they ask for this info, and from the fact most students are woefully unprepared for statistics. We will learn
1. MEAN
2. MEDIAN and QUARTILES
geometric (simpler but less accurate)
algebraic (better when dealing with large numbers)
3. INTERQUARTILE RANGE
4. MEAN ABSOLUTE DEVIATION
5. BOXPLOT
I go over three exercises: n=7, n=8, and n=9 and we compare the quartile methods. I SPED THE VIDEO TO SAVE YOU TIME. You can always pause it if you missed anything. I slow down on the final part to make sure you don't miss it.
Remember: no video can make this stuff sink into your brain like you DOING THE WORK... so don't just sit there like a vegetable! WRITE!!!
