Fluid Mechanics Lesson Series - Lesson 01B: Classification of Fluid Flows
In this 18-minute video, Professor Cimbala discusses various classifications of fluid mechanics:
1. Viscous vs. inviscid regions of flow
2. Internal vs. external flow
3. Compressible vs. incompressible flow
4. Laminar vs. turbulent flow
5. Steady vs. unsteady flow
6. One-, two-, or three-dimensional flow
Also defined are the no-slip condition, viscosity, turbulence, Mach number, and speed of sound.
This video incorporates material from Sections 1-3 and 1-4 of the Fluid Mechanics textbook by Cengel and Cimbala.
