This video shows you how to create a MIDI track, insert a MIDI item, load up a virtual instrument - the free virtual synthesizer called "ReaSynth" that comes with Reaper - and enter MIDI notes for the synthesizer to play. You'll use Reaper's MIDI Editor window to do that using just your mouse. Then you'll see how to swap the instrument - this time using a free VST instrument (VSTi) called 4Front Piano - to see how the same MIDI file can be played on different instruments.
