UTERINE FIBROID EMBOLIZATION (UFE) IN OUR CENTER
We perform UFE since 2002 for uterine fibroids (Myomas) and adenomyosis. UFE is done under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. In our center, we routinely perform superior hyogastric nerve block to decrease postprocedural pain. After UFE, we keep you under observation for about 2-3 days. During this time, you may walk, eat, drink and take a shower as in normal life. UFE is about 95% successful in eliminating the fibroid-related problems. The recurrence rate of fibroids is less than 10%. More than half of the patients who desire pregnancy may become pregnant and have a normal birth after UFE.
