Orthogonal frequency-division multiple access, or OFDMA, and multiuser multiple input, multiple output, or MU-MIMO, are part of what makes Wi-Fi 6 so powerful. MU-MIMO debuted in Wi-Fi 5, enabling four data streams at once from separate antennas, but now, supports up to eight streams. OFDMA reduces bandwidth waste by dividing a wireless channel into smaller and smaller subcarriers to divvy up bandwidth among users.
