My work experiences include Apple and Microsoft, and I taught iOS at Lambda School.
Recently I was laid off from GoPro when they cut 4% of the workforce.

At GoPro, I was a Staff Engineer on the iOS Camera team, where I:
1. Used SwiftUI to create a brand-new Bluetooth camera experience
2. Improved Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity
3. Added support for new cameras
4. Participated in every hackathon over the three years I was employed.
5. Submitted details for a provisional patent application

I joined GoPro so that I could help improve the product and make it more accessible.

I led three teams of 3-8 people for GoPro Hackathon projects that improved the GoPro Quik app using App Store reviews and business analytics as guidance.
1. My team won the last hackathon in 2023 for improving the frame grab experience.
2. My 2nd hackathon project shipped last summer. We fixed iPad Landscape support for GoPro Quik (and stopped the negative App Store reviews).
3. Part of my 1st hackathon project shipped in 2022. We demonstrated an improved onboarding experience around Privacy Permissions.

I am a writer and speaker. At GoPro I created developer documentation, took notes, and presented technical talks for the iOS and QA teams.
* I gave presentations on UI Testing and Reading Camera Logs
* I helped with onboarding and hiring:
* iOS Onboarding Guide
* iOS Best Practices
I also taught git rebase workflows, testing procedures, and how to capture logs from GoPro cameras.

Now I am looking for a role where I can work as an individual contributor, mentor developers, and provide technical expertise to guide the Product and Design teams. I enjoy brainstorming new user experiences and collaborating with designers.

I’m searching for a new iOS Developer position where I can make a difference for millions of users. I have an eye for design and how a product should work.

Thanks!
-Paul
