Using 2 different USB sticks, I go thru steps to necessary initially from my desktop running Fossapup64. Second USB stick is bootable, with persistent file, and surprisingly quick in an old 32bit dell laptop.
Terminal command to create initial USB stick:
dd bs=4M if=CorePlus-current.iso of=/dev/sdg && sync
