Bad Motherboard CMOS Battery - PC will not turn on: How to FIX (EVGA SR-3 DARK)

I came across this issue with my SR-3 DARK recently when I tried to run the motherboard. Already earlier on I had no turn on issue with one of the BIOS chips which came out of sudden after an overclocking session. Now this time around none of the BIOS switch positions worked, and I couldn't even use the BIOS flashback port.

It seems that the EVGA SR-3 DARK is extremely picky about the motherboard CMOS battery. It is possible that this is more common among more modern motherboards, but usually motherboard should be able to turn on even without the battery in place.

I measured the voltage of the battery from its top part to check its health state, and the voltage was well below 1V, when it should read over 3V. I changed the CMOS battery to a new CR2032 and now the rig runs just fine again. Quite interesting as I really thought something was broken at the hardware level.

If you have this very same issue that nothing happens from the power button, check the status of your BIOS CMOS battery, sometimes it can be just it.
