THE GRAND CANYON - America's Biggest Canyon
The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and a mile deep. The first European to see the Grand Canyon was in 1540 by Gracia Lopez de Cardena of Spain. The South Rim is open year round and the North Rim is open during the summer months. Over 5.9 million visitors make a trek to see the Grand Canyon every year.
