In a new recommendation published in JAMA, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening for hypertensive disorders in pregnant persons with blood pressure measurements throughout pregnancy. In this video task force member Dr. Esa Davis of the University of Maryland School of Medicine explains the reasons of for the recommendation, why it's important for doctors to follow it.
The USPSTF is an independent, volunteer panel of national experts in disease prevention and evidence-based medicine. The Task Force works to improve the health of people nationwide by making evidence-based recommendations about clinical preventive services.
