Dr Randy Morris| The BOARD CERTIFIED Fertility Expert| IVF success tips on InfertilityTV: Why didn’t your embryos implant?

Hello. I’m Dr Randy Morris, the medical director at IVF1 and this is Infertility TV

It can be very frustrating. Everything during your IVF cycle seemed to go well but your pregnancy test was negative.

There are many reasons why embryos may not implant. Some reasons are related to the embryos themselves. Their development may have been poor or the embryos may have had genetic abnormalities. If you didn’t already, consider watching the embryos for 5 to 6 days in the lab and performing PGS or preimplantation genetic screening.

The uterus may also be a problem. Make sure to test for abnormal growths in the uterus like polyps or fibroids.

The chance for implantation is better if you freeze the embryos and put them back at a later time.

Of course, make sure your doctor and IVF laboratory are top notch.
