One of the most intimidating parts of learning how to improvise is figuring out what the chord symbols mean. So, in this short, I'm going to show you how to read chord symbols with this quick start guide.

All of the examples in this video are based on the C scale
C D E F G A B C

When I refer to scale degrees, that just means the number note that is in the scale, for example:
C is 1
D is 2
E is 3
etc.
