The Perfect Weekend Camping Trip from Los Angeles | Sawtooth Canyon
Let's get out of the city for a night in the desert. This was my first time at Sawtooth Canyon Campground and it blew me away. I'll definitely be back for some rock climbing once the weather cools down!

There's nothing that resets my mind and spirit better than a quick trip into nature. As much as I love all that Los Angeles has to offer, it's so important to step away and slow down from time to time. Sawtooth Canyon is the perfect place to do just that.
It's under three hours to the campground and there are 13 first come, first served sites. No reservations or fees are needed for this beautiful spot and there's so much to do around here! My goal for the trip was to try out light painting with my new flashlight. 🔦
Rock climbing is what this area is known for -- the climbing community refers to it as New Jack City. There are routes for all levels here and the rock is perfect for climbing.
If you'd prefer to stay on solid ground (or in your car), there's also plenty of off-roading all around. We went on a few trails that were really beginner-friendly, which was great for us as newbies that were going solo.
All in all, this was a fun and much needed little trip during Memorial Day weekend that kicked off camping season right. We'll definitely be back, but we're going to wait for the heat and bugs to calm down first. 😅
