The North American Bey-side Finch (colloquially nicknamed Beyoncé) is a small bird species that was discovered on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. It is known for its dramatic and extremely dynamic mezzo-soprano voice, and has many different calls but is well known for its "hey low-OO-oo" song (mnemonic: "Halo").
The Bey-side Finch is also known for its distinct social habits, and it is often seemingly "drunk in love" with the Jay bird. Bey-side Finches can be very performative for other species of birds and can almost take on a second personality at times. Some call this personality "Sasha Fierce" due to its ferocity when performing, but most people call it "Queen B". Ornithologists have labeled the Bey-side Finch "Destiny's Child", because it was as if it was destined to perform.
