No matter what your pursuit in life is, you’re going to have to work really hard. In some cases, you’re going to have to push yourself to the limits both physically and mentally.

Your body is capable of much more than you think.

The best way to teach yourself about fortitude is arguably physical activity. Sports, running, weight lifting something that gets the heart pumping and muscles working. Especially one’s with extreme intensity like boxing. Even just during regular practice of hitting the heavy bag, you have to use exhaust every last bit of energy. Or running. Running for miles thinking you can’t do it, but your legs just keep moving. You have to dig deep for energy you didn’t even know you had. If you can build that kind of tenacity in the gym, you can apply it any where in life.

You have to push yourself mentally as well. You ever wonder why some people are more creative than others? Some of their talent is innate. But there is another aspect of learning creativity. You can learn to be creative. By studying. And especially by practicing. Whatever your path is. Whatever your craft is. You have to build experience. You have to make mistakes in order to become experienced.

And creativity doesn’t necessarily mean being an artist. It could mean innovation and ingenuity. It could be mean being a creative problem solver. And that’s necessary everywhere. No matter what job you have. No matter what business you run. The only job that doesn’t need that is a menial one. And that’s not what you want to be doing. Respect goes out to those of you who may be in a menial job, but you want to work towards improvement. Aim high. That’s the whole point of pushing your limits.

Most people are afraid of pushing their limits. They’re just soft. They don’t want to try anything new. They don’t want to take risks. I don’t even think they want to succeed. I can tell just by talking to them one I meet one of those people. They don’t have a sense of urgency. They don’t have a rational fear of failing.

That’s one of the biggest motivators to push yourself past the pain point. Because you don’t want to fail. So some people avoid all of this by never even starting.

You’ll never know what you’re capable of until you try as hard as humanly possible. Keep raising the bar each time. Because it’s a personal battle. It doesn’t matter if someone is stronger than you. Or better than you. Or more successful than you. Goals are internal. It’s about what you are capable of doing. Don’t measure your success against someone else’s. Everyone has a different path. What’s easy for one man is a challenge for another.
