"Trigeminal autonomic cephalgia affect one side of the head and are associated with cranial autonomic features such as ptosis, conjunctival injection, lacrimation and rhinorrhoea. Trigeminal autonomic cephalgia's unfortunately are thought to effect less than 0.1% of the population. There are 5 main types, cluster headaches being the most common.

Trigeminal autonomic cephalgia (TAC) share similar pathophysiology involving activation of the hypothalamus and trigeminal autonomic reflex. Treatment varies and depends on the type of TAC"
