Which Path Will You Choose?
The prophecy of the Eighth Fire underpins the work of the Place of Reconciliation For All Our Relations within Centennial, established as a Centre of Excellence with an intended purpose of bringing together all those who work within Indigenous Education.
This video was filmed very intentionally in the new Indigenous gathering space (affectionately known as the Basket Room) – a physical manifestation of Centennial’s commitment to both fulfilling our obligations under agreements and Treaties that guide the lands we are on, as well as providing a model for how we can work together in a good way to centre Indigenous knowledges, worldviews and ways of being and doing towards mutual responsibility. It is a special ceremonial space that has its own responsibilities associated with it in ongoing ways and provides within it the ability to host sacred fires and other ceremonies for Indigenous community.
Special thanks for the contributions of the teachers, guides and other Indigenous community members and citizens of Nations who have provided their time, knowledge and carry the legacy of inclusion and seeking guidance from Indigenous communities that we continue to carry into the future.
