Chatbot Tutorial | Respond to multiple livestream channels
In this video, I show you how to use a new library that I created, called multi-stream-chatbot, which helps your chatbot respond to multiple livestreams at once. It’s better than Streamlabs chatbot because you can add integrations for any streaming platform and write your own custom commands using Node.js javascript code.
The Hacker Shack chatbot that I wrote is a consumer of the multi-stream-chatbot and a good example of how to use the library. It has several commands used for things like chat polls and posting user-generated memes on the livestream video. It also uses the built-in Stream objects to connect to Twitch and Youtube livestream channels. If you’re interested in building your own chatbot using this library, I would start there.
All of the code for this project can be found on Github. The multi-stream-chatbot library is written in node.js, but I’m interested in porting the library to Python in the future. It seems like a developers like to write chatbots using python, so I reckon that it would be nice to have.
