The topic of "Dates and Relationships is complicated - both in life and in Dynamics 365 Fabric Semantic layer modeling - but if done right, the outcome can be magical.
Dynamics 365 entities often have multiple dates of importance associated with them - in this example an opportunity record has at least three key dates, Created On, Estimated Close Date, and Actual Close Date. - They are all useful, but at different times and in different calculations. All three can be related to our date dimension "Calendar" - but only one relationship can be 'active' at a time.
In this video we'll explore how USERELATIONSHIP helps ensure the self-service users get data returned and rolled up for them in logical association based on the relevant date.
