In 1967, the philosopher Philippa Foot designed a thought experiment: the trolley (tramway) problem. Imagine a traveling trolley that has bad braking and is approaching a railway switch. The switch provides a transition to a second road which leaves from the main road. On the main railway road, there are five workers who are unaware that the trolley is approaching. In addition, you are in front of a handle that can change the switch. If you pull the handle, the traveling of the trolley will be directed to the second road, so that you will save the lives of five people who are on the main road.
