In OpenGL, the initial pixel is anticipated to be situated at the bottom, whereas in DirectX, it's expected to be positioned at the top. Consequently, it's often suggested in technical discussions to experiment with inverting the green channel of a normal map to observe potential improvements, as this action reverses the pixel values (the first becomes the last). OpenGL is commonly denoted as Y+ (bottom-up), while DirectX is labeled as Y- (top-down).
