In this video, we will be looking at how we can validate data we get from a client before we try to add it to our database. You always need to ensure that the data you add to your database is in the correct format. It is not enough to assume the client side has done enough validation, your backend too needs to validate the data.
This prevents any malicious data from being submitted to your database, also helps keep your database to be consistent.
We are using JOI to validate the data we get from the client: we are looking at how to validate emails, nested objects and more.
