An estimated 50,000 people are expected to attend the papal mass in Singapore on Thursday. Security for the event is expected to be tight. Thousands of volunteers have spent months preparing for the occasion. On Thursday, Pope Francis will receive a ceremonial welcome at Parliament House. He will call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and the two will deliver speeches at a State Address.
