3.7.1 Understand a Router روٹر کی وضاحت
A router is a networking device that forwards data packets from one network to another.
روٹر ایک نیٹ ورکنگ ڈیوائس ہے جو ڈیٹا پیکٹ کو ایک نیٹ ورک سے دوسرے نیٹ ورک میں بھیج دیتا ہے۔
As the Internet is called network of networks, so a router also directs the traffic on the Internet.
چونکہ انٹرنیٹ کو نیٹ ورکس کا نیٹ ورک کہا جاتا ہے ، لہذا ایک روٹر انٹرنیٹ پر ٹریفک کی بھی ہدایت کرتا ہے۔
What are its functions?
A router is usually placed at the meeting point of two or more networks.

A router analysis the destination IP address of an incoming data packet.

Determines the best route to forward the packet.
پیکٹ کو آگے بڑھانے کے لئے بہترین راستہ کا تعین کرتا ہے۔
Sends it accordingly. اس کے مطابق بھیجتا ہے۔
3.7.2 Routing in the Internet
We get the internet service from Internet Service Provider.
ہم ISP سے انٹرنیٹ سروس حاصل کرتے ہیں۔
When we send a request from a device it reaches an ISP where router is installed.
جب ہم کسی ڈیوائس سے درخواست بھیجتے ہیں تو یہ ISP تک پہنچ جاتا ہے جہاں روٹر نصب ہے۔
The router forwards our request according to header of our message.
روٹر ہمارے پیغام کے ہیڈر کے مطابق ہماری درخواست آگے بھیج دیتا ہے۔
3.7.2 Routing in the Internet
For communication over the Internet, there may be hundreds of networks between the source and the destination.
انٹرنیٹ پر ربط کیلیے، بھیجنےوالے اور منزل کے مابین سیکڑوں نیٹ ورک شامل ہوسکتے ہیں۔
Hundreds of routers might forward a single packet as it moves from one network to the next on the way to its final destination.
اس کی آخری منزل تک جانے کے راستے میں ایک نیٹ ورک سے دوسرے نیٹ ورک تک جاتے ہی سیکڑوں راؤٹرز ایک ہی پیکٹ کو فارورڈ کرسکتے ہیں۔

It is used to deliver the data packet at destination.
اس کا استعمال ڈیٹا پیکٹ کو منزل مقصود پر پہنچانے کے لئے کیا جاتا ہے۔
Source Address بھیجنےوالے کا پتہ
It is used to identify the sender device۔
یہ بھیجنےوالے کے آلے کی شناخت کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
3.7.3 Routing Process
Routing table:
It has an entry for the destination address.
اس میں منزل مقصود کے لئے ایک اندراج ہے۔
A routing table is used by routers to determine the path to the destination network.
منزل کے نیٹ ورک کا راستہ طے کرنے کے لئے روٹرز کے ذریعہ روٹنگ ٹیبل استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
3.7.3 Routing Process
Routing is a process of taking data from one device and sending it to another device on a different network.
ایک آلہ سے ڈیٹا لینے اور اسے دوسرے نیٹ ورک کےکسی آلے پر بھیجنے کا عمل روٹنگ کہلاتا ہے۔
3.7.3 Routing Process (Example)
Host A wants to communicate with host B, but host B is on another network.
A اور B آلات آپس میں بات چیت کرنا چاہتا ہے ، لیکن B دوسرے نیٹ ورک پر ہے۔
Host A is configured to send all packets destined for remote networks to the router.
Aاپنےسارےپیکٹس ایک روٹرکوبھیجےگا۔
The router receives the packets۔ روٹر پیکٹ وصول کرتا ہے۔
Check the routing table. روٹنگ ٹیبل چیک کرتا ہے۔
3.7.3 Routing Process(Example)
If the entry exists for the destination address, the router forwards the packet out of the appropriate interface port.
اگر منزل کا پتہ درج ہے تو ، روٹر پیکٹ کو مناسب پورٹ پر بھیج دیتا ہے۔
If the router doesn't find the entry, it discards the packet.
اگر روٹر کو اندراج نہیں ملتا ہے تو ، اس ڈیٹا پیکٹ کو خارج کردیا جاتا ہے۔
