In this Photoshop Tutorial, we’ll touch on five basic minimalist composition concepts for sports poster designs, and then a handful of options within each general concept. Keeping the text and our primary/featured player cut out the same for each composition, we’ll walk through several different effects you can achieve to make the background (or middle-ground) a bit more interesting while keeping everything looking clean.

00:17 Faded Cutout

Each concept can be manipulated with different filters, effects, colorizing techniques, transformations, etc—this video will walk through a few basic examples, but really the sky is the limit to make these designs your own! Hopefully this tutorial helps provide inspiration and gives you an idea to try out in your next poster design.
