Shopify: How to Add Alt Text (Alternative Text) to Images
In this Shopify tutorial, Nick demonstrates how to add alt (alternative) text to product images and theme images. Alt text improves accessibility for website users who use screen readers or have low-bandwidth connections, as well it is an important factor when it comes to Shopify store Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
As of recording, this tutorial in September 2022, Shopify product image alt text can be a maximum of 512 characters in length but recommends keeping alt text at 125 characters.
