9 steps to Create Cubemap from HDRI in Unreal Engine. Quickly, easy and affordable. From HDRI to Cubemap.
Guide.
Create a sphere 0 0 4000, scale 100.
Give it a material, put your spherical hdri on it's base color and emissive color.
Create a scene capture cube 0, 0, 4000.
Create cube render target (Under Texture).
Drag cube render target onto scene capture cube.
Double click cube render target, set Size X to rez you want (1024 or 2048 or 4096).
Right click on cube render target and create static texture from it. (now you have a cube map).
Enable HDRI backdrop plugin and restart.
Drag texture cube onto it's cubemap.
Under HdriBackdrop's Advanced, Enable "Use Camera Projection".
