In the gospel accounts, we read that Jesus turned over the tables of the money changers in the temple. But this wasn't some angry outburst or temper tantrum. No, this was a divine act of love and grace.
The people in the temple were buying and selling sacrificial animals because they believed they needed to make amends for their sins. But Jesus came to fulfill the law, not to abolish it. When Jesus overturned those tables, it symbolized that they no longer needed to make sacrifices to atone for their sins. It's a reminder to us that Jesus took our burdens and our sins and replaced them with his grace and forgiveness.
