Brooklyn bystanders rescue driver from overturned minivan after wild series of crashes
Neighbors in Brownsville rescued a driver from a minivan that flipped on its side following a wild series of crashes on Aug. 31. Olubunmi Awoluyi, the driver of the vehicle, was fleeing the scene of another accident, striking a 26-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl in a crosswalk.
Awoluyi was charged with DWI, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.
Both the woman and child were taken to the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
