In this short film, some of our postgraduates talk about their experiences of studying for a research degree at the University of Leicester.
The University of Leicester is one of the UK's top research universities with an international reputation that stems from our distinctive synergy between our research and our teaching.
We offer two main types of research degree - the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil). Both involve producing a thesis of publishable quality which is then defended in an oral (viva voce) examination.
Many of our PhD and MPhil degrees can be taken part-time or by distance learning and we offer professional doctorates in Education, Psychology, Medicine, and Social Science.
