Queen Elizabeth II on Netflix's The Crown is getting older, and showrunners want to portray that. Actress Olivia Colman will replace the current queen, played by Claire Foy, in seasons 3 and 4.

Netflix’s The Crown has found it’s Queen Elizabeth!
Showrunners have tapped Emmy nominated actress Olivia Colman to play Queen Elizabeth II in the drama during seasons 3 and 4.
Colman will replace Golden Globe winning Claire Foy who portrayed the young queen in seasons 1 and 2.
Show creator Peter Morgan says the recasting is not a surprise, as he always wanted another actress to play the older version of the queen.
