Surprise 10: Back to "Normal"
Back to "Normal"— A good rule of thumb is 9 months on, 9 months off.
There are those blessed few who seem to lose the baby weight overnight, but for the vast majority of new mamas, it takes time to shed the pounds.
It is certainly possible to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight, but be sure to take it slow.
If you are breastfeeding, you don't want rapid weight loss or strict dieting to affect your milk supply.
The breastfeeding bonus is that it burns a ton of calories, so it's a great aid in helping to rid yourself of those pesky pounds. While it's very possible to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight, you might never completely achieve your pre-pregnancy body.
The best advice I can give you is to take it easy after you've had your baby.
You have a lot on your plate and are dealing with the physical recovery of birth and the emotional and mental adjustments to new parenthood. Spend time getting to know your Baby and treasure this special time in your baby's life and good luck.
So thanks for watching, I really hoped you enjoyed my 10 childbirth surprises!
