bhyve is FreeBSD native hypervisor. It supports PCI passthrough which means that a guest can directly access a PCI device without hypervisor interaction to increase the performance of the virtual machine. GPU devices are a special class of PCI devices requiring some additional steps to get passed through.
This talk discusses the current state of GPU passthrough and explains how to use it.
