Venus - named in honor of the goddess of love - will be at its brightest just in time for Valentine’s Day 2025! But now is the time to start watching it, if you haven't started already. Venus is in the west after sunset now, brighter than any other planet or star. And it's now next to Saturn in the evening sky, making the ringed planet easy to pick out, and providing a stunning sight for skywatchers who look west after sunset. Also, for you telescope owners, Saturn's rings are about to disappear! Join EarthSky’s Dave Adalian at 12:15 p.m. CT (18:15 UTC) on Monday, January 13, for charts and more details.
