What happens when you expose teenagers to animals of every variety, every day, as part of their school day?
Listen in as Lucy Cull of Wolverley Animal Centre in Worcestershire, UK, tells us how she inspires kids to love animals and foster human/animal bonds with their menagerie.
Wolverley Animal Centre is part of a rural high school and treated like any other department. Lucy is the department head and, along with her team, teaches 14 to 16 year olds BTEC Level 2 Animal Care, giving them a headstart in their animal careers and allowing them to access Level 3 in college, 1 level ahead of their college peers.
Not only do the kids learn about animals, they also gain valuable life skills working for the centre, which will allow them to hit the grpund running when their school days are over. An inspirational lady, with an amazing facility, doing extraordinary things for both animals and children.
