Louisiana Representative Mike Johnson received the support of all 220 Republican members in attendance to gain the gavel.
Johnson was the Republican's fourth nominee for speaker in three weeks.
Remember, Johnson helped spearhead the attempt to overturn the 2020 election. He took the lead in filing a brief in a lawsuit that sought to overturn Joe Biden's presidential election win. The U.S. Supreme Court quickly threw out that claim.
