“We've grown our bond strongly, just like a family,” XG member Juria tells Apple Music of the dynamic between the seven young members of the girl group, which also includes Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey. While all the members of the septet are Japanese, the group is based in South Korea and came up through the K-pop training system.
XG (short for Xtraordinary Girls) debuted in March 2022 with the addictive percussive whispers of English-language rap track “Tippy Toes” before making further waves with “SHOOTING STAR,” “LEFT RIGHT,” and “GRL GVNG.” They’ve already collaborated with established artists such as Rico Nasty, Jackson Wang, and Ciara. They made their US performance debut in 2023 at Head in the Clouds New York, a little more than a year after their initial explosion onto the global music scene.
