New Zealand Sign Language Week 2023: Leaders Challenge | Ministry of Health NZ
This week, we’re celebrating New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) Week.
NZSL became an official language of Aotearoa in 2006, and is celebrated every May to increase awareness and understanding of NZSL & the Deaf community and to empower and strengthen the Deaf community.
Learning a new language can be scary at first, but together, we can make NZSL thive.
In this video, Dr Diana Sarfati, Director-General of Health here at Manatū Hauora is taking part in the NZSL Leaders Challenge, and sharing some new NZSL words she’s learnt this week.
