While PlantSims were originally introduced as part of a challenge in 2017, you can still make sims PlantSims now in 2021. For this get to level 10 gardening and purchase a magical plant sim stump. You'll then want to buy rare seed packets, and open them until you have all six different types of magical beans (note that this can be expensive)!
Place the beans on the magical stump and water it, after which it'll turn into a gorgeous looking tree. Then you can explore this tree for the forbidden fruit of the plant sim. Eating this will turn your sim into a PlantSim for 5 days, but I recommend growing this into a tree so that you have access to more of these fruits.
