World's largest hydroelectric dam
China has given the green light for a massive hydroelectric dam project on the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet. This dam, once completed, will be the world's largest and will have the capacity to generate 300 terawatt-hours of electricity, enough to power 300 million people. To build the dam, engineers will divert the river by constructing a network of tunnels, each stretching about 20 kilometers.
