It was once science fiction; machines that make life and death decisions – but not anymore. Autonomous weapons are types of systems, which if used in war, could act without human supervision. Autonomous killing is a legal and ethical issue currently overseen by a human. However this could change overnight. Machines can’t follow the rules of war. Only humans can.
