This custom application met the customers need to implement lean product on management for a new company with run away sales which had to run from start up to full-blown production without having the time to step back and analyze. Hurdles included incoming receiving, inspection, cleaning, calibration, packing and shipping for a high volume and mix product. Worksmarts solution was to build variable speed carousels that would feed multiple positions and maintain balance. Another benefit of the turn styles was that they functioned as a gate for simple error proofing. Importantly, the refined cell and smooth product flow not only increased productivity it also decreased floor space requirements as well as work in progress. To further assist the very busy team, the cell was shipped set up, allowing production to commence in minimum time.
