In this course, you'll harness the power of Houdini's procedural modeling capabilities to generate high resolution production level geometry. Setting up HDAs and shelf tools you will quickly be able to build and modify the environment with ease.
While building this game cinematic inspired environment we take a look at preparing the high resolution meshes for efficiently displaying them in Solaris as well as rendering utilizing Karma’s powerful instancing system. By exporting the meshes directly to USD from the SOP context, this allows us to quickly build the scene in Solaris, leaving more time to craft the shaders and lighting.
Taking it a step further, we explore using Copernicus, Houdini’s powerful new procedural texturing framework. This will allow us to craft specific details. Combining this with Megascans textures to give us the ultimate control over our shaders.
