My first podium in Europe car racing, Jarama, Part 2
Hello everyone! This is Nuts Drive, and we are at the Caterham race on the Jarama track.
You are about to see the continuation of the intense battle on the Madrid track with these very challenging cars. I will be searching for my car's setup upgrade and maybe I'll finally get lucky.
In the last episode, we started systematically working on improving my lap times. We made progress with each practice session and even pleased Engineer Duarte with the final time. But then came the mistake in qualifying, a tough race with intense battles in the first laps.
In the end – no race pace. So I realize that we need to tune the car.
There are three possible reasons for the lack of pace: myself as a driver, the car, and the car's setup. We slightly improved my driving skills during training with Vasya, now let's focus on setting up the Caterham.
The problem is that we have very little track time for testing, and during tests, I still don't quite understand what's wrong with the car. However, when I am closely racing against a group of competitors, I can SEE how they pull away in certain turns and understand what our car is lacking.
Therefore, we will have to do something that shouldn't be done at my current skill level – change the car setup between races. I'll find out how the car handles right after the green light.
