Episode Notes:

1. There is an important distinction between developer and publisher. I considered both when choosing this list.

2. Even though I chose EA as my number 1, they still had a lot of bad games on the Genesis. Under their banner, trash like Sword of Sodan and Dark Castle were published.

3. Acclaim grew exponentially during the 16-bit era. They purchased many studios and licensed many IPs. It's no wonder they got themselves into trouble not long after.

4. Konami was one of the best gaming companies ever during the 80s and 90s. Great game after great game. It's amazing they have dropped so far in the years since.

5. Sunsoft was a strong developer when they did their games in house, but really took a dive when they started publishing other developer's titles. I understand wanting to expand but their choice in who to support was quite disappointing.

6. Namco was initially set to support Sega and its Saturn in 1994. Upon seeing the hardware, they immediately balked and threw their weight behind Sony.

7. Wolf Team was sold to Namco in 2003 and renamed Namco Tales Studio. They developed a number of RPGs in the Tales line before being merged into Bandai Namco. There is little left of the original Telenet developer.
